Weekly Reflection

I enjoyed completing this portfolio. It was simple and is a great way to do study notes! This is also a great method of presenting information to a class on smartboard. It is a great way to present information clearly and simply. It also caters for different needs incorporating visual, written and audio devices.

Weekly Reflection

I found this portfolio item difficult but with some extra attention and following instruction i was able to complete it. I discussed this method of recording students results with my prac teacher and i discovered that her and some other teachers in the school use this method of recording results. I noted that this method was easy and simple to understand, well set out and very easy to read. I feel i will use this method of recording results when i am a teacher as it clearly sets out the student, their scores, avengers and percentages.

Weekly Reflection
I really found this portfolio item interesting and fun to undertake. I feel that this activity can be used in the classroom even by the students!
The classroom i observe every tuesday is constantly using different technologies such as computers and in particular smart boards. I feel as though these portfolio items canassist me in the use of technology in the classroom with the students.

I found this weeks lesson very informative. Before this lesson i knew a limited amount information about WebQuests however now i feel very well informed. I also feel as though i could apply my new skills to my prac or uni assignments if needed.

Week: 6 Desktop Publishing and review of Web Quests

In this workshop i was informed about the features of Desktop Publisher, how it is used and its main purpose. We also quickly looked over Web Quests. We were also informed of our Portofolio item 4.

Week: 5 Web Quests

This week what a webquest is was discussed including its definition and advantages and disadvantages associated with it. The class was also informed about the different purposes that webquest entails. The components and examples of Webquest was also detailed.

The information learnt in this lesson can be greatly benefical to me through my teaching  years as i will have the knowledge of providing information to my students and feel confident in allowing them to search information through this feature.

Week 4: Understanding the Web

During the workshop this week i learnt about the different elements of the world wide web (WWW), inlcuding termilogy, URLs (Uniform Resource Locator), DNS (Domain Name System), browser skills, search engines and search techniques. Web resouces was also discussed. Web searching techniques for both students and teachers was discussed in depth.    

This workshop is of great benefit to me as a student studying primary education as i have become more informed with the basic components of the World Wide Web thus making me more familiar with the technology and allowing me to have greater succes in teaching this to a class.
